The Best and Most Important Message on Fighting the Pandemic of Late

This morning I heard from the Google News an interview of the former UK PM Gordon Brown by a US media (did not catch the name of it), which prompted me to search online and find this piece. I must say that it sends a crucially important message to the international community, which however is less likely to take it or even consider it seriously.

International cooperation would allow us to gather the scarce resources each country has and to have a new division of labors across borders. I know many people think that globalization is (and should be) dead, but this global pandemic actually calls for urgent global cooperation than ever. Now we are in a war of humanity against a common threat from our shared natural environment. If we do not unite now, it is hard to think of any other time to do so.

Global cooperation will bring real benefits that otherwise would not come. This is a moment to expect decreasing opportunity cost from the tradeoff of saving lives and saving production!
